TheUnclean is moving along very nicely. or at least, I am ok with the current pace of progress. I have customized the category/section pages throughout the site. I have also cleaned some of the CSS, with more being done today. I have also incorporated a clean tweet this function into the theme; thanks to SmashingMagazine.
I also recently posted a new post for TheUnclean Zine. Of Demons and Devils, is a quick look at Belial and is a good example of how posts within certain parts of the Zine will be done. Of Demons and Devils explores the historical, etymological, theological and sociological aspects of what is commonly called demonology. Research and references include various articles from online as well as some of my own library. Hopefully, people don’t get the wrong idea and think of me as some devil worshiper, I am not. Simply put, I spent several years in theological study and wanted to incorporate that into the site.
The next article I am writing for the Zine is considerably longer and covers body modifications. From tattoo’s to piercings to surgical alteration. For centuries, and around the world, people have practiced varying forms of modification. Some for aesthetics, others for social and religious reasons.
Well, enough of my blabbering, back to work…

At first, the site was just going to be a small list of links and RSS feeds of sites, artists, etc that I like. I put a couple of apps that worked as reminders for me, handled my email, basically productivity tools used for my own dark needs. I found a way to use Google Maps, create RSS feeds from my own entries, and then I found WordPress had grown way past simple post entry capabilities. With the ease of plugins and seperated design from data, I got one of those things, what are they called? Oh yeah, an idea

I liked it and tried to run with it, but soon fell flat on my ass! At the time, I was still working two full time jobs and commuting just over 3 hours a day. In fact, over the past 9 years, I have averaged just over 76 hours a week not including commute or training and making time for my family. I was smoking, overweight, often forgot to eat, drinking enough caffeine to kill a rhino, had regular and sever migraines and then came the seizures. It’s no wonder, for 9 fkn years I had pushed myself to the breaking point.

Now that I answer to no fukn 1, I am very excited to see what I can really do.

I spent the past few days struggling with the changes I want/need to make for my site, TheUnclean.com. But during a feeble attempt at sleep last, I saw it.

I knew the the theme I had already chosen was exactly what I need to start with. I was just uncertain about how to best implement it. I knew that I wanted a far cleaner layout, less clutter with more content. I was just nervous about becoming reliant on page bloating code. While sitting on the couch, staring into the NeverNever, I figured it out. Damn, I frkn dig it when things come together!

At this moment I am giving a test run to the heavily customized theme, Cellar Heat by Evan Eckard. If you happen to see TheUnclean anytime in the next couple of days, please excuse any mess you may find.
When I first saw the original layout, I knew it was the ideal starting point. I also knew it would need a ton of work to make it dance the way I need. Once I am done, I will post all the details and make an announcement. Anyways, back to making changes.

I installed WordPress on TheUnclean.com on April 4th, 2007. I cannot believe it’s been almost two years already…time flies when your a cog in the corporate machine. And now, it’s been almost two months since I left the corporate world behind; a decade was long enough there for me. Looking thru my stats for TheUnclean.com from this past week and noticed a huge jump in visitors and pageviews. My top day for this past week was Saturday, November 22, 2008 with 1,136 pageviews. Not surprising, my top posts came from the customized gallery, specifically the one for the SuicideGirls:

• SuicideGirl Ember with 15page views

damn! My last post was July 23, 2007?! Ok, now that is just wrong…so very very wrong.
I would like to sit here and type that i have been working every minute of every day, but that’s just bullshit. I’ve actually cut back on the workload tremendously over the past 6 months.
I even sleep every night; well most every night. And, get this, for the first time in over 20 years, I’m sleeping more the 4-5 hours at a time!
oh yeah, i also just got a year older; on the 16th. so what did I do? Well, I got my ass back in gear and starting posting here again for one. i also grabbed a blogger account; Gothic-Industrial.Blogspot.com. I will more then likely test both these hot puppies out for a while before deciding which to stick with for my personal blog.
